Enter to win 'This is My Brain in Love,' a YA romance novel on race and mental health
A little thank you for being a Foreign Bodies subscriber
If you’ve read our latest issue on taking medication for a mental illness, you already know a little bit about doctor and author Ilene Wong Gregorio. In her essay, she told us about her yearning for happier stories surrounding mental health—stories that leave young people in particular with some hope as well as understanding. I’m elated to share her latest novel, This is My Brain in Love—a YA contemporary romance novel exploring mental illness (with a happy ending!)—as our newest giveaway pick. We’ll be mailing one lucky subscriber an inscribed copy of the novel from none other than I. W. Gregorio herself. Entries accepted through Friday, May 15 at 8 p.m. EST.
PSA: This giveaway is only open to paying subscribers or comps (gifted subscriptions). If you’re interested in subscribing but haven’t yet—click here!
About the book
This is My Brain in Love by I. W. Gregorio features two minority protagonists—an Asian American teen trying to save her family’s struggling restaurant business and a black teen with the knowledge to help—as they come to terms with their own anxiety and depression. The novel addresses race relations, young love and mental health with nuance and care, and has been such a joy to read even as an adult.
