Dearest Foreign Bodies,
As many of you already read, I’m currently recovering from a bad tailbone injury and am still unable to sit and write (or do much else) for more than 10 minutes at a time. For this reason, Issue 15 will be published on Wednesday (3/4) instead of Friday (2/28).
Pushing to next week also allows my editors and I more time to ensure you leave with a solid understanding of the public charge rule that recently went into effect in the United States. As I mentioned in this week’s Monday roundup, Issue 15 will dig into the policy and its immediate or indirect implications on immigrant well-being. Disability rights advocate Conchita Hernández Legorreta will be sharing her perspective on the rule—and I can’t wait for you to learn more about her work in the U.S. and across Latin America.
In the meantime, read up on our latest issues, don’t forget to enter our #Hamilton giveaway before Friday and please continue spreading the word!
Thank you, always.
Love,
Fiza
p.s. Having been conditioned to work within immovable deadlines, I had to really talk myself out of just writing through the pain this week. But I hope that anyone who feels overwhelmed or ends up on the receiving end of one of life’s inevitable curveballs doesn’t go so hard on themselves. I know it’s difficult to part from productivity. I’m learning to go easy on my body and mind, too. Promise to do the same?
Take care <3
get better soon fiza !!
